It is a full, ground-up remake of the classic 1999 tactical RPG Front Mission 3, originally released for the Sony PlayStation. Developed by Storm Trident and published by Forever Entertainment, it’s part of a larger project to remake the first three Front Mission games. The remake modernizes the beloved classic with completely new 3D graphics, overhauled UI, quality-of-life improvements, and new gameplay mechanics, while faithfully preserving the original’s deep story, strategic turn-based combat, and iconic Wanzer (mech) customization. Core Gameplay (What You Do) Tactical Turn-Based Combat: You command a squad of Wanzers on isometric grid-based battlefields. Combat is methodical and strategic, requiring careful positioning, terrain use, and target selection. In-Depth Wanzer Customization: This is the heart of the game. Each Wanzer has four main parts (Body, Arms, Legs, Backpack) and two weapon slots. You can mix and match: Parts: Different armor, weight, and carrying capacity. Weapons: Machine guns, rifles, rockets, missiles, grenade launchers, and melee weapons. Skills: Pilots learn “Alerts” (passive skills) and “Provisions” (active skills) through combat, adding another layer of strategy.
