A good turn based game. The roguelite aspects are implemented in a way that refreshes the gameplay loop at a nice controlled frequency. You can try to rush, or drag out the loop. This gives you time to feel out the pace of your preferred playstyle. Having to balance out fatigue of your party and the fuel of your ship yields some necessary route planning that imposes a needed constraint.This game takes a familiar concept and adds a little flair with overworld map exploring and an interesting story. I’ve only begun to get in the depths of this game but for a $10 game, I am HIGHLY impressed. Are their issues? Yep. Do they break the game? No. There needs to be better descriptions and detail put into some items and some mechanics, (however you can learn what they do by science). The only TRUE gripe I have is there is no controller support.

It’s very good. It’s a rougelite with Xcom/Into the Breach style combat, as well as an rpg since you gear-up and level-up your hero. You fly your ship around to pick fights with pirates, though tbh that aspect of the game becomes trivial after a few meta-upgrades. I’ve only played a couple of the heroes, but their styles are very different, and their capabilities morph considerably throughout the runs. Only real complaint I have is that fights can get cluttered. It takes awhile to figure out which enemy is doing what attack when they all overlap on the same few tiles. But I did get used to it after awhile. lso, idk what is up with the cover art, but it does not match the vibe of this game lol. It’s definitely more darker/serious. Not that it really matters, the story is not too involved, nor is there much in the way of dialogue.
