The price tag for this game was going to determine a lot of what I said in this Steam review, I have a video I’m working on that talks about a lot more in depth of whats really going on behind the scenes with this one but let’s get this out of the way because as much as I like certain aspects of this, 30 bucks is ridiculous. Why is that ridiculous you might ask? For starters, this game is not new. Wavetale actually fully released on the Google Stadia in November of 2021. The leadup to this steam relaunch unintentionally or not was making it seem as though this game was JUST coming out this year when that is entirely not true. The other massive problem is playtime. I am one of those people that doesn’t usually care if a game is short as long as its quality all the way through. That is sadly not the case here. I will be sure to link the video once I finish it as its a lot easier to listen to than read a mile worth of my thoughts on this, but the composer, concept artist and narrative lead I think all got kinda left in the dust on this one by the devs. The framework of this game they got handed was great, and then the actual execution was really really mediocre. And again, this game is NOT brand new, they had a year from its release on Stadia to fix and polish and improve on the game and at the end of the day they still ended up with a mediocre game they’re charging an absurd 30 bucks for.
