Longer version: I’m a big fan of the Lego games, but this one I wouldn’t recommend, it’s just not that much fun. -Firstly it has a long unskippable advert (intro movie) for TT Games every time you start up. -Secondly there are basic issues like the onscreen instructions regarding controls to use being wrong (in the electric mazes, the onscreen instructions say to use LB and RB on the controller to rotate the maze, but actually you have to push *both* left stick and right stick left or right, and goodness knows what the actual controls are to grow the large tree – it says to use left stick left and left stick right, but that doesn’t do it). -But the biggest issue is that in other Lego games, there is some logic to which character can do certain actions (eg construction workers can use the pneumatic drill, girls can do acrobatics), but here is no logic and the game is continually offering its equivalent of the Microsoft Clippy paperclip to play a short video on which character to use. It’s as annoying as Clippy was. There is a massive assortment of obscure DC characters you’ve never heard of (even if you’ve watched all 10 seasons of The Big Bang Theory). -Fourthly the controls are awful, eg instead of Y on the controller simply switching between characters, Y randomly makes your character bigger or smaller, changes to one of your 4 in-play characters (but *without* bringing up a wheel to let you choose which one), enters a “vehicle”, or brings up the full inventory of 200 characters, with tiny icons, unclear pictures, and no easy way to work out which one to use.
