Crysis Remastered Free Download (v1.0.9460220)
As soon as you come across the first building the game literally itself and performance is in the teens. I went from around 100fps (Although it didn’t feel smooth) to 15fps. This was 1080p, max settings(Ray tracing and VSync off). I lowered everything and got 25fps. How in the hell can a game be so badly optimized?! It’s a damn shame because I was getting into this game. On launch of the original game I remember this wasn’t the best game around in terms of gameplay, gunplay world building or story but more a big tech demo for the CryEngine. It was the best looking game on the market for about ten years after and still, to this day, gives a lot of modern games a run for it’s money in terms of how good it looks. But playing this remaster now and compared to the crap that has been released in the last few years that’s saturated uninspired copy and paste game design I was actually enjoying this.

It felt somewhat fresh being in a semi-open world game with tools at your disposal to play how you wanted to play and tackle objectives how you wanted to. It even got me pumped for Crysis 4 in the hopes they would go back to their roots and try a no BS open world game that doesn’t force you to climb towers to view the world map or collect collectibles as side quests(Because these days collectibles are considered entire side quests… Incredibly original game design from Triple Ayyy studios /s).I literally had to uninstall the game because it runs like utter crap. There’s no way this should run as bad as it does. It’s not even pushing the envelope in graphical fidelity. The physics engine is probably the exact same physics engine and version used in the original game in 2007, the HAVOC physics engine. HAVOC was ahead of it’s time and it was a great physics engine but it was incredibly demanding. Now we have good physics engines that don’t hobble performance .
