The game seamlessly melds pure action and epic story-telling that surrounds Raiden – a child soldier transformed into a half-human, half-cyborg ninja who uses his High Frequency katana blade to cut through any thing that stands in his vengeful path! CODECS” option added to the Main Menu. Play all and any codec conversation scenes. Menu option added to the CHAPTER Menu enabling user to play only the Boss battles. “GRAPHIC OPTIONS” added to the OPTIONS Menu. Modify resolution, anti-aliasing, etc. There is an option reading “ZANGEKI” that will modify the amount of cuts you can make. So. Metal Gear Rising! Here’s my thoughts. The good: – Very well optimized, didn’t run into a single bug, crash, or performance drop – Gets to the action quickly, doesn’t waste your time. – Very focused, pure concentrate of high-octane action. This game knows what it’s about and wastes no time with anything else. – Blade Mode and cutting stuff to pieces. – As a Metal Gear story, it’s fun! It has the intrigue, the codec calls, the political undertones, and the bosses debating philosophy with you. It does seem the leave the door open for more shenanigans well past MGS4. With the controls mastered, I find myself with some sore hands every time I’m done playing. This may just be me, but it’s an exhausting game to play for long periods. The action really doesn’t let up, at all (which in itself is not a bad thing), but this causes me problems (see extra thoughts) – Regional pricing seems a little busted. It is 19.99 EUR for me, but it appears to be 29.99 USD for the US market. I can’t explain this discrepancy, but it could be priced a lot worse. The bad: – It’s short. Don’t expect a Metal Gear Solid-length campaign. I finished the story in about 11 hours. – The tutorial is worthless. It’s over in a minute, it hammers that you need to parry but doesn’t explain how. By the time I reached Blade Wolf, not willing to give up, I had to ask extraneous sources to actually learn parrying. – The stealth is optional, and a complete joke. I get that there’s “Metal Gear” in the title, but all stealth possibilities should have been cut entirely. They add nothing to the game. It’s quite literally more worthwhile to fight instead. ✨ Buy From Official Steam Website
