I thought, at worst, “a clunkier clone of warpips might still be fun, right?” Nah, this game is pretty much just trash, and I don’t say that lightly. Even if you’ve played warpips until you’re sick of it, you’ll STILL have more fun replaying warpips than this thing. And if you haven’t played warpips and think this game might be interesting, good news! There’s a game called warpips that this game is a very poor attempt at copying, and it’s better in literally every single way. I beat the first 3 out of 10 scenarios on hard difficulty super quick. There was pretty much no strategy involved, the game seems to have only like 2-3 hours of content tops (in warpips a single campaign could take 3-4 if you’re thorough, and it was replayable enough to get at least a couple of the semi-random campaigns out of me). The general “attack and defense mode” buttons are replaced with the ability to micromanage your units… which I’m pretty was added PURELY for the reason that they have a much clunkier AI than warpips (i.e. units that are aggroed onto an enemy in cover won’t retarget onto a suicide bomber actively rushing them). On top of which, the ability to just tell all your units to sit at base and max out your popcap before sweeping the enemy makes it a joke. More control over your units makes the game easier and less strategic. In warpips, dealing with your own unit’s aggressive AI is half the challenge – and the fun.
