This is the perfect casual gaming experience that anyone will like. The story does not overstay it’s welcome as the game is only 10 chapters. You do have two story options with ‘adventure’ and ‘story’ mode. Story mode is a very casual experience, adventure is a tad harder. Graphics are incredible and the transition between 2D and 3D is flawless and integrated in the game perfectly with the puzzles and collectibles. Puzzles are pretty simple, maybe a couple head scratches for a few minutes here and there. Collectibles are simple with artwork (50 to collect) and ‘glitchbirds’ (10 to collect). Some can be pretty hard to find, but it’s fun. You do have a chapter replay once a chapter is beaten if you miss anything. Combat is super super simple. You have a few upgrades to have new combat moves and more damage, but it isn’t anything too crazy. The bosses are where the game shines more and when the game evolves more into just your standard ‘attack with a sword’ game it’s really fun.
