Not only does the game not respect your time, it gives you the middle finger to further slow progress adding insult to injury. You cannot pause races. Forced multiplayer, always online. Can not quick restart races. Must abandon and go back to the forced lobby for that race. Using any other camera view besides “chase/follow” means you can barely hear your car. No FOV for car cameras, only for the avatar you walk around interiors with. Can’t disable camera shake. Cars have absurdly wide turning angles. Physics/handling isn’t too bad. Just has some kinks that need to be worked out. Roster of cars is decent. But… some of the car models are plucked right from TDU2. I kid you not. The Nissan GTR is one of them and it shows because the model is poorly proportioned. If you happen to own TDU2, go take a look at the GTR, then look at the one in this game. loI overpaid for this… Wait for several patches and a sale. I’ll have to revisit my review later.

The amount of hours I have put in this game at the time of this review has allowed me to see a significant portion of the game. But man do I have a *a lot* to say about this game in that time. My review would be an articles worth. To spare your time, I’ll just summarise. Performance is “meh” at this time. VRAM estimator is way off (~4GB over what is actually used). IT IS playable on a gaming laptop (1080p/30fps). But you have to select “Low” graphics. When using “High” graphics a Ryzen 7 5800X3D / RX 6900XT combo managed to get 80 fps at 1440p which is really low compared to other racing titles. The AI leaves a a lot to be desired. It cheats basically. They start out at the lowest difficulty so you can easily obtain first. But as you keep winning they get harder. There is no difficulty selection in this game. It scales with you as does the AI’s ability to rubber band. In order to bring it down, go into a race and intentionally lose. Yes, you have to waste time by completing a race just to lower so you don’t get frustrated with an arcade racer.
