I recently completed Ogu and the Secret Forest on PC. The game’s smooth animations and immersive sound design immediately drew me in. While the combat system is straightforward, it can be easily overcome by stocking up on healing items. A few puzzles left me scratching my head due to the lack of clear hints. It’s adorable, the puzzles and combat aren’t too difficult, and you can collect bugs and hats. I have no complaints! Updating review after I’ve finished the game and I thoroughly enjoyed it! It has a lot of different things going on and most of the story-line puzzles aren’t too difficult, so if you’re not big on puzzles you can get through them pretty easily. I got all of the collectibles but didn’t bother with the hat upgrades, and I don’t think I missed out for it since I rarely used combat hats. It also has a bit of surprise voice singing in the end credits! However, the narrative was a pleasant surprise. The story was well-written and kept me engaged throughout. I’d like to give a shout out to the game’s writer for crafting such a compelling tale. One minor gripe is that the attack direction is tied to the character’s facing, which can be a bit inconvenient. I would prefer if attacks were directed towards the mouse cursor.
