An awesome relaxing soundtrack, charming art style and intriguing characters: Fireside manages to create exactly the cozy atmosphere that you would expect from a game centered around people sharing stories at a campfire After trading for a few evenings you return to your base (not completely empty-handed!), where you can start repairing and upgrading buildings step by step. I really enjoy the addition of these roguelite elements which create a smooth gameplay loop. The trading also feels great! You can experiment with different items and literally weigh them against each other without committing to the trade. It’s fun to trade with different travellers at the campfire to fulfill their wishes – and gain lots of energy in the process which you need to upgrade your base further. The storytelling greatly involves the NPCs you meet on your journey and I’m looking forward to finding out more about them (especially a particularly ambitious amphibian). I also have to highlight the cooking! You can learn new recipes from NPCs or you can discover them on your own which feels really rewarding.
