It begins when an unknown victim gives you the briefcase. Now it is yours, keep it safe, away from the entity. It emerges from the shadows and it blends with the crowd. It won’t Probably this is one of the strongest recommendations in the entire history of my steam reviews. This is substantially the videogame transposition of “It follows”, that happens to be one of my favorite horror movies ever, so I totally could not miss it. Some time ago I tried the demo on itch.io, and I was a bit disappointed by the fact that it looked WAY too similar to the movie, I would have liked to see something more, something original. Fortunately, the full game has just that something! It PERFECTLY conveys the same sense of anxiety and paranoia that made the movie great, but also surprises the player with unique mechanics that not only differentiate it from the movie, giving it its own character, but also caught me completely off guard in more than one occasion! These mechanics, together with one of the most masterful exploits of light and sound that I have ever experienced, make this game genuinely scary, stop and you must plan and strategize to keep your distance. Your overworked lungs are on borrowed time. A humble inhaler is the lifeline that will give you the boost you need. Requires a few shakes to prime. Your only option is to push through the sea of bodies, the amalgam of faces, the claustrophobia of the crowd. It could be any of them. Whether it’s in a subway, nightclub, or riot-filled streets, do what you must to survive.
