A legitimate review for this game. It’s tagged as survival horror but it’s not really survival horror so much as it is…survival. I don’t understand why it’s got horror labeled on there. Is it scary? I guess kinda. so maybe that’s why? But regardless this is still a pretty legit survival experience. You play as a lone soldier stuck behind enemy lines after they took the trench-line you were stationed at. With gameplay reminiscent of Resident Evil you have limited backpack space, can combine items in your inventory, you have safe rooms with saving journals, a stash, and a merchant/companion there who can sell you stuff, buy stuff from you, or upgrade your gear which can of course be hot keyed and customized to your liking. There’s no sneaking mechanic, or other survival mechanics like base building or status meters. the only meters you got are for stamina and health. The game’s combat is a bit awkward and could have been better designed but it’s not the worst I’ve ever seen. And that sound design is amazing. All-in-all in the game was very well designed. It has a few issues here and there, sure, but for the most part this is a safe and sound investment. A game that’s NOT broken and NOT badly designed giving you more-or-less exactly what you were looking for or expecting from this game. I’m not into horror games but I AM into survival games and overall I thought this game was very interesting and very well crafted.
